Micky crossed the Rainbow Bridge just after 7:30pm tonight. I was in the room waiting for discharge papers to transfer him to another ER and his heart stopped while they were preparing the transfer. I wasn’t with him, but they said he was not alone and they did do CPR. His poor little 270 gram body just could not fight any longer.
I will say, he knew love in a big way. I kissed that kitten on the top of his head more than any other kitten ever. He was a fighter. My vet said he wouldn’t make it over a week ago and he defied the odds to experience love, warmth, food, and comfort for 9 additional days.
I’ll miss caring for him. He was so fluffy and I know he was going to grow up to be physically beautiful.
For two hours they were unable to even get his blood glucose to register. That means it was less than 20. His temp was down to 96 and they had him on additional heat support. He must have felt absolutely horrible.

I hope Rosie and Regina and all the others are waiting to greet him and I hope he knows how much he was loved by not just me, but an entire community rallying for his comeback.
Rescue is hard. The innocent lives still make it worth it. I will put his sweet little face from last night in the litterbox on the Rainbow Wall at the catfe. We had such a great night last night.
Run free, Sweet Micky over the Rainbow Bridge
