What happened to George should never happen to any animal. One morning, a simple mistake turned into a nightmare when his owner unknowingly ran the washing machine with George curled inside.
For six hours, he was tossed in spinning water, slammed against metal, choked by detergent, and left barely alive. When the machine stopped, his owner opened the door to find George broken, soaked, freezing, and gasping for breath.
Panicked, the owner rushed him to a vet — but when he learned how much care George would need, he surrendered him. And in that moment, we made a promise:
We would not let him die.
George arrived barely conscious, his body temperature dangerously low, his lungs struggling, brain swelling from trauma, sinuses filled with blood, tail broken, eyes swollen shut. He was hypothermic, in shock, and fighting for each breath.
The medical team moved fast — heat support, warm IV fluids, antibiotics, steroids, pain relief, nebulizers, nasal flushes, laser therapy. Hour by hour, they fought for him.
And George fought right back.
Even through the pain, wrapped in blankets, he gave the faintest purr — proof that he still recognized safety. Still believed in kindness.
Today, he remains in critical condition but stable. His future is uncertain. Recovery will be long. But he is no longer alone. He has a full team fighting for him, every second of every day.
He survived the impossible.
He wants to live.
And as long as he does, we will stand beside him
