Have You Ever Heard Someone Talking While You Were in the Shower…?

Most people think the shower is one of the safest places in their home.

It’s routine.
It’s normal.
You close the door, turn on the water, and for a few minutes… the outside world disappears.

Just you… and the sound of running water.

But that’s also the problem.

Because when the water is running…

You can’t always hear everything clearly.

Lucas never thought much about it.

To him, showers were just part of his daily routine. Music sometimes. Steam filling the room. Nothing unusual.

Until one night…

It was late. Around 11:40 PM.

The house was quiet. Too quiet, maybe—but he didn’t notice.

He turned on the shower, letting the hot water run as the mirror slowly fogged up. The familiar sound filled the bathroom, drowning out everything else.

At first, everything was normal.

Water hitting the floor.
Steam rising.
Silence outside.

Then…

Something changed.

He thought he heard something.

A voice.

But it was faint.

So faint that it blended with the sound of the water.

Lucas froze for a second.

“…Hello?” he called out.

No answer.

He shook his head.

“Probably just the pipes,” he muttered.

He stepped back under the water.

But then…

He heard it again.

This time clearer.

Someone… talking.

Not loud.

Not shouting.

Just… whispering.

Lucas turned off the water instantly.

The bathroom fell into silence.

He listened.

Nothing.

His heart was beating faster now.

“Okay… I’m just tired,” he whispered to himself.

He turned the shower back on.

And that’s when it happened.

The voice came back immediately.

Clearer.

Closer.

And this time…

It wasn’t random.

It was speaking.

“…Lucas…”

His blood ran cold.

He didn’t move.

Didn’t breathe.

“…Lucas… I know you can hear me…”

The voice sounded… familiar.

Too familiar.

Like someone he knew.

But there was something wrong with it.

Something slightly off.

Like it was being… copied.

Slowly…

Lucas reached for the shower curtain.

His hand trembled.

He pulled it open.

Nothing.

The bathroom was empty.

Exactly how it should be.

“No… no…” he whispered.

Then he noticed something.

The mirror.

Still fogged…

But now…

There were marks on it.

Lines.

Like someone had dragged their fingers across the steam.

Words.

Lucas stepped closer.

His heart pounding so loud it hurt.

Written slowly… unevenly…

“I’M NOT OUT THERE.”

He stumbled back.

“No… no, no…”

The voice came again.

This time…

Right behind him.

“…I’m in here…”

Lucas spun around.

Nothing.

But the air felt… different.

Heavier.

Like he wasn’t alone anymore.

The shower was still running.

Water hitting the floor.

Steam rising.

And in the reflection of the fogged mirror…

For just a second…

He saw it.

A shape.

Standing behind him.

Not fully visible.

But enough.

Too tall.

Too still.

Too wrong.

Lucas ran.

Out of the bathroom.
Out of the house.

He didn’t stop.

The next morning…

He came back with a friend.

The bathroom looked normal.

Clean. Quiet. Empty.

But the mirror…

Even though it had been wiped clean…

When the steam slowly returned…

The same words appeared again.

“I’M STILL HERE.”

And sometimes…

Late at night…

When the water is running…

People swear they hear it too.

A voice…

Barely audible…

Hidden behind the sound of the shower.

Calling their name.
