Trooper performs CPR for nearly 10 minutes to rescue 82-year-old on I-70 near downtown Indy

Just before 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, Lt. Jeff Hearon stopped to check out what he thought was a disabled vehicle on Interstate 70 near downtown Indianapolis.

That’s when Hearon stepped in and started Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). He continued giving CPR for almost 10 minutes before more helped arrived.

Before being taken to a local hospital, the 82-year-old’s pulse had returned, Perrine said.
